We are a motivated junior research group working at the Institute of Medical Virology at the Justus Liebig University Giessen.

Current research activities focus on the biology and pathogenesis of respiratory viruses (incl. corona- and influenza viruses).

The main goal of our studies is to obtain a comprehensive understanding of (host) factors and molecular mechanisms involved in viral replication. Information derived from these studies is used to develop new prophylactic and therapeutic strategies to combat respiratory and/or systemic infections caused by these viruses.
